Oh! My! Gosh! I loved our vacation to California! I love my family. I love the hotel. I love the sunshine! Joe and Cari were able to set us up in a 4 star resort for the week which was like a really nice apartment, kitchen and balcony with grill included. The whole family was together under one roof. Izzy got to meet her cousins Tita and Jackie for the first time, I got to spend time with my little sister (God! I miss her!) and Grandparents got to spend time with their grandkids and kids for one great week. John was happy we got a room he could hide out in for a few minutes by himself. He did really great, he just needs a few minutes of peace and quiet every day.
John hung out with dad a lot this trip golfing and deep sea fishing. Cat and I hung out while the boys were playing. We traveled down to the beach one day near the Hotel Del Coronado to show the girls the ocean for the first time. Cat and I piled everyone into the car and drove 2 1/2 hours each way. We walked up and down the side shops (where I slipped and fell while we ran past the sprinklers...sandals have no traction), ate lunch at a little bistro, enjoyed some really pricey but GREAT sweets from the Hotels bakery and, oh yeah...went to the beach!
Cat and I pulled our strollers across the beach like horses with their buggies (seriously, that's how we looked) and made the long trip down to the ocean. Tita had a blast in the water. She collected sea shells, splashed in the water and enjoyed the sun. Jackie screamed when her feet touched the water (it was pretty cold) but then fell asleep the rest of the time. Izzy loved the feel of the water and sand around her toes, when I went for the camera though she started getting fussy because SHE wanted to go to sleep too, which she did 10 minutes later.
The wedding of Amber and Mickey was absolutely gorgeous She looked like a princess and she had a reception at the country club that matched. Servers marched around with drinks and orderves and there was a three course meal to follow! Izzy was so excited that she didn't want to fall asleep. She loved the dance floor and all the people. We finally left at 11:00 and she squealed with delight as we put her in her carseat. She knew it was time to go home. :)
We took some time to visit Johns family too. Izzy got to see baby tortoises at Great-Grandpa Waughs and puppies at Grandpa Rosenbaums. Driving through the beautiful countryside of California John and I had to wonder..."why did we ever leave?"

Well we spent the last week in sunny southern CA, and it was wonderful. We got a brand new rental car with a whopping 138 miles on it. When we returned it, we racked up 1280 miles. I wanted to make sure it was broken in for them. But the more import issue was the wedding that we attended. Jay's cousin Amber Henry married Mikkie Bill. It was a wonderful wedding, beautiful and elegant. We congratulate them and know that they will have a blessed life together. Jay has some of the most fun loving relatives. While out there I went deep sea fishing and golfing, we went floated on a lazy river, visited Grandpa Rosenbaum and Great-grandpa Waugh, and Jay and Izzy went to the beach for the first time. It was a nice trip. With all this traveling we took a bunch of pictures. I hope you have a broadband connection because I upload 165 of them. Enjoy :)

John and I were excited when we first saw the beginning of two teeth popping into Izzy's mouth- then kind of surprised to feel two more in the back of her mouth coming through and I swear we saw two more coming through in the front...but those disappeared. The first two that we saw definitely popped through and made themselves known to...ME! I was leisurely sitting and rocking with my baby while she nursed but then I felt a CHOMP! I jumped and made her stop eating for a second which made her really mad because she was interrupted. I let her nurse again but a few minutes later I felt another CHOMP! That's it. She was done nursing for the moment. How exciting that she got those teeth in so early. Yeah right. :)

It must be a mom thing. It always amazed me when my mom would say, "Oh! I don't need a thing for my birthday...you're all I need." I never believed her and thought she was a big fat liar! But then it happened to me! I turned into that person. I don't remember a birthday where I wasn't super excited from the week before (ok, fine...I would be excited an entire month ahead of time). But the morning of my birthday rolled around and I would have totally forgotten about it if it wasn't for my husband kissing me goodbye and saying happy birthday.
WOW! It happened! I didn't remember my birthday. I'm now a 27 year old mommy who now only cares about kissing and cuddling with her little girl on days like this and couldn't give a darn about my very own birthday...Wierd, right?

Well, Izzy got her 2nd set of shots. I feel so bad when we're packing her up to go get these done. She has a happy little smile on her little chubby face and she squeals with delight as we play with her on the table, just sitting around in her diaper. Then the nurse comes in to give her the horrible things we came in for. Here's the progression of facial expressions as each shot comes.
First is just a sweet, syrupy inoculation that she takes by mouth- Izzy drinks it down with a surprised but happy little expression.
1st shot- "OH! That was surprising! Wonder what that was?"
2nd shot- "Oh Lord! It happened again! I'm starting to really not like this feeling."
3rd shot- "Oh! My! LORD! It happened again and NO ONE IS STOPPING THIS!" Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!
4th shot- "The pain will never stop! Everyone just stands there and laughs!" ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
5th shot- "enough is enough! Maybe the gods of heaven will stop this pain if I cry loud enough." WAAAAAARRRRGGGGGAAAAWAA!
5 minutes after the shots are given and she's in her car seat Izzy is asleep and cuddling her bunny. The pain is over.
Funny moment: Izzy is starting to be a little suspicious of anyone not mommy and daddy now. So when the doctor came in to kiss and cuddle with her Izzy actually pushed him away and looked very concerned. Her daddy was very proud of her being able to push away men who gave her unwanted attention at such an early age.

Yes! It's been a big week. Izzy is mastering art of sitting unassisted! On Tuesday, January 22 Izzy triumphantly decided that she could sit without her parent's help. so on the living room floor with both parents in close proximity Isabella Rosenbaum sat up for probably a total of 30 seconds completely balanced! The next day at nursing group she impressed all the other mommies in attendance by sitting for even longer- since then she has practiced sitting up a lot, looking very, very, very proud of herself. Or is that just her mommy beaming her pride onto her offspring? Either way; it's cool!

Izzy is a genius- did I tell you that? Didn't I tell everyone that? My daughter is a stinking genius! She's learning how to do new things every day. She's almost got this rolling over thing down- she actually rolled all the way over this afternoon! Soon she'll be able to gain some serious mobility, then I'll be sorry I ever wished for it.
She's adorably chunky- she has all the right rolls in all the right places, I think she weighs a bit more than the other 4 months old around but shes gotta be the cutest baby in the world with the cutest pair of cheeks that you just love to squish. I've never felt the urge to squish a baby's cheeks before but I love squishing hers- she smiles every time I do it.
Her ultimate big first is that she laughed, really laughed, for the first time on Sunday. Her daddy and i were so excited! I was tickling her on the bed after church and she let out a little giggle. I haven't been able to get her to do it since but she'll do it again soon. :)
lastly. I said Izzy's a genius but her daddy and I have to learn how to do math a little better to reach her status. This whole time we've been thinking that she's close to 4 1/2 months old. Well, I was corrected and we discovered that she's actually just about to turn 4 months tomorrow. Which means I started her on solid foods a tad bit early- but oh well! She liked them and she didn't develop any allergies to them.

Look at this! Mama Rosenbaum is posting a message after all this time. Sorry I haven't written anything lately, I just have had other priorities on my mind.
So far Izzy has survived her first set of shots, countless number of nights in her own bed, and parents that (oh yes, we did it) left her in her room to cry herself to sleep at night for 20 minutes.
Izzy was brave during her first set of shots. She was just happy as a bee laying there on the doctors table then her eyes got really wide when she felt the sting of the first shot. She started crying a second later when the pain didn't stop and really started wailing when the shots continued three more times. Poor baby girl. She stopped crying by the time we left the office though. On a positive note it was the first day she actually gripped onto one of her toys (hence the picture of her asleep holding her monkey rattle).
She started sleeping in her crib (Look at her daddy's blog just a little ways down there) She does a great job of sleeping through the night- she usually will go to sleep at 10:00 till 4:00, eat, then fall back asleep until 6 or 8.
the whole bath then bedtime routine helps a lot. Izzy gets a bath at 9:30 then we relax in her adorable little room till she falls asleep.
Her daddy is the best daddy in the world. He comes home and plays with her, sings to her, changes multiple diapers, and loves it that he can feed her baby food now. You should see the mess they make together. :)
Her first reaction to baby food was funny. She was a bit surprised at what was being shoveled into her mouth but after a few spoonfuls she was following the container around with her eyes and wanting more. Her first food was Yams (which she loved) and her second is Pears (not so fond of those).
She loves going to her mommy and me exercise class. She watches everybody jumping around and smiles REAL BIG when we do push ups and arm curls together.
There's so much more to write about but I'm pretty proud that I took the time to write this much.

She did it, my little girl is now sleeping in her own room, in her own bed. She has moved beyond the bassinet, (mostly because she does not fit in it to well anymore). She is sleeping mostly through the night, only waking up once around 4 am, and then again a little after 6. She is such a big girl. :)

Izzy is growing so fast. Last Wednesday she weighed a whooping 14lbs 1oz. Only being 3 1/2 months, that is a nice weight. Her little cheeks look like she is stock piling for winter and her cloths are getting a little tight, well at least the newborn and 0 to 3 month cloths are. But she is still my little angle and I love her to death.

Izzy had a big day on Halloween. She got all dressed up in her little pirate costume (the cutest thing in the world!) and was shown off to everyone! I took her to my old school where I worked last year and talked to almost everyone. Jennifer Noble was introducing me to her class, "Kids, you remember Mrs. Rosenbaum. She taught 2nd grade here last year but she stayed home this year because she had a...(out comes Izzy from her stroller)...a little pirate!"
She didn't know what to think of the cow lady. She had the body of cow, but the face of person. Izzy's little eyebrows narrowed as she inspected her. I could tell she was thinking, "I don't get it- she has a persons face but I don't get the head. What IS that on top of her head?!" She saw all the students and teachers costumes for the day and was held by a few of my co-workers from 1st and 2nd grade. She passed out for a while but then woke up when we got to church to hang out with a few other little trick or treaters that were too young to wander the streets as well. :) After we went home she slept for almost the entire next two days. There was a lot to process.

Well, John and I have discovered that Izzy is a little social butterfly. She's perfect in public, sleeping or smiling when she's out of the house- but man oh man! When she's home with just us it can be a fun night. She doesn't do it all the time, but when she's in a fussy mood it can last FOREVER. She just cries and cries and cries for no reason what so ever. She's been fed, changed, and bathed but to no avail! the screaming continues until she just tires herself out and passes out. Poor thing, I feel so bad for her when she's in one of those moods. I love it when she's in a happy mood though, she just screams with delight and kicks around her legs and arms like crazy. It's the cutest thing in the world. She REALLY goes nuts when I start singing ranges for her. Nothing fancy, just la-la's and Do-Do's but she likes that better than twinkle twinkle any day.

Hello All. I would like to announce a new feature in the Photo Album. It is called 'I Want It'. This is how it works, as you are looking at all the cute pictures of our daughter, and you find a picture that you want a real copy of (you know printed on photo paper by a photo processor like walmart or target). You simply click the "I Want It" check box under the picture. After you have selected all the pictures you want, return to the photo album page. You will see a new light blue box where you can enter you name and email address. Once you fill in your info, click the "Process 'I Want It'" button. That is all you have to do, and we will get back to you in a few days. To review what you have selected before you click the button, simply scroll down and look for any pictures that have a green box around them on the Album index page. Enjoy.

I think I may be getting used to this- My house is looking clean today and I'm getting a shopping list done, sending out my thank you cards that have been written for a century already and learning how to calm down my baby (most times). She was an angel to her daddy and mommy last night and decided to sleep for 4 hours! The previous nights she wanted to sleep for an hour at a time, then stay awake for an hour. Not cool. John is still doing a super job of being a daddy- he takes care of her whenever I ask, he gets up to change her diaper in the middle of the night when my back won't let me (it gets really sore bending over to pick her up and feed her!). He's super protective of her like any good daddy could be and he even let me go out with my friends one night and took care of her without a thread of panic!
So, if you see this proud daddy strutting his stuff let him know that he's doing an excellent job! Did i mention that he even has prepared gourmet meals for me? We're lucky girls in this house!

We have made it, Isabella is now three weeks old. She now weighs over 9lbs and loves to be held. Of course with three weeks of no sleep, leads to moments of insanity. Which brings me to this. Half way through a rough night of crying, I rolled over and told my wife, "I think she is broken, go fix her." I do not know what she did, but the nights have been better. :)

Ah...the land of parenting is a wee bit like I expected, but different at the same time. Izzy does a great job of keeping John and I up during the night. We'll be blissfully sleeping and then a loud, shrill, hungry cry from an angelic baby pierces the night. Quickly, one eye pops open and one of us crawls over to the bassinet to check on our little bit of heaven (who has a crazy-loud scream). John has been doing a wonderful job of comforting and changing her and I'll try to sleep while he's doing that, but when it comes time to feed her he doesn't really have the right 'equipment' and I take over. I sit in a chair while she eats, fighting hard at the pull of sleep. My eyes grow heavy, I slouch forward, but then shake myself awake as she continues to eat away, trusting that I'm not going to fall asleep during these continuous interruptions of the night. I'm getting better at not becoming so sleepy when I get up though. It's starting to become easier to wake up and stay awake while she's eating.
I think of it this way (even though it sounds like I'm complaining): each time I wake up is an extra special moment with someone very special. I love every moment with her, even if it is a sleep deprived moment.

Isabella Pauline Rosenbaum came home today! Thursday, September 13, 2007. 5 days old. I had a sleepover with her at the hospital last night so the hospital staff could keep a watchful eye on me taking care of her. I think they wanted to make sure I was doing ok as a mommy. I think I did great! I didn't get more than 3 hours of sleep but I surprisingly felt well rested in the morning. Her temperature was a little low because we had a really cold room. I tried to put lots (but not too many) of blankets on her to keep her warm, but alas! The hospital staff gave me a firm warning that they didn't like to send home babies whose temperatures fluctuated. The pediatrician took the cold room into account though and we were allowed to pass.
Izzy's umbilical cord fell off this morning. John was holding her and said, "hmmm...something hard is by her butt." we took a look and 'lo and behold! her little cord had fallen off along with the clamp (that hard thing John had felt).
We were able to leave the hospital at 2:00, we stopped by Target to get some food for lunch and Izzy was adored by some of the Target staff. When we got home I fed and changed Izzy while John made some REALLY awesome burgers and fries. Izzy was great and let us eat our lunch in peace then promptly started to cry. John did a great job as daddy and cuddled and talked to her for a while until she just stared into his eyes. Then she was in need of another diaper change. We had more cuddling time then she decided she was hungry again (two hours later). Now she's happy and sleeping away in the pack and play next to me in the living room. The dogs are happy because they were finally allowed into the house and John is relaxing with a good book.
It's good to have our daughter home. We are not on suspension from parenthood anymore (joke from Johns statement as we left the hospital for the first time without her, "I don't feel like a daddy yet, I feel like a suspended daddy.") SUSPENSION OVER

She's here! Isabella Pauline Rosenbaum was born on September 8,2007 at 8:52 pm- I had about a 2 hour labor (pushing that is) and John tried to get in on all the action. He was a very attentive new daddy. He was great about calling everyone, keeping as many people informed as possible and catering to my every pitiful demand.
She does have to stay in the hospital for a while because she swallowed Meconin while coming out. The Meconin clogs up her lungs and makes it very hard to breathe. If it's not all gone then the dangerous side effect is that it can cause a lung to collapse- which is why she's here at the hospital in the good care of the doctors and not at home where I'd be freaking out. It's not an uncommon thing to happen to babies and something that just needs to be watched until they get it all out of her system. When it's gone she's free and clear. :)
Prayers are great for our little one- God is watching her and I've seen her get stronger and stronger every day. We want our little one home so we can take part in the sleepless nights, diaper changing and sweet crying.

Of course we already new that. Isabella Rosenbaum was born September 8th 2007 at 8:52pm. She weighed 7lbs 15oz, is 20 inches long and had a 14 inch head, (sorry dear, thats my fault). She is beautiful. She did breath in quite a bit of fluid during birth so she will not be able to come home with us right away. but with any luck and a little blessing from God, she will be coming home on 9/12.
There is a new photo album with lots of baby pictures. Click here to take a look.

on to week 41! Well, John and i are just waiting in our little nest for our bird to hatch. she's decided to hang out a little longer to make a grand appearance.
When baby's go past their due date I learned that the doctors start getting you in for TONS of extra tests to make sure everything is okay. We went in for an ultrasound this week and a stress test for the baby. She looks perfect in every picture (we could even see some hair on the top of her head in one shot). The Ultrasound technician guesstimated that her weight is 8 pounds- but then she said she could be off by a pound either direction...which means that she could be 7, 8, or 9 pounds. :) ACK! I'm cheering for the 7 pounds. My doctor thinks she'll be closer to 7 1/2 pounds.
The stress test just measured how her heart rate would pick up every time she kicked. Her heart is beating strong.
We're going in for another visit on Friday (tomorrow) and we'll see what's happening with her then. If she doesn't come by next Friday then we're told we'll have to induce. Sounds like fun, eh?

Wow! week 40 is upon us and there is no baby yet. She has dropped down pretty low now and her heart rate has gone down a little bit (my doctor assured me that it's a positive thing because it means she's getting ready). My doctor says I'm only dilated almost to a 1 (you have to be at a 10 when baby comes) but you never know! She could come this weekend or next weekend. If she's not here by Tuesday the doc has us set up for an ultrasound in order to see where we want to go from there (i.e. should we induce or let her be for a while longer).
Her room is all ready and waiting for her. John has done so much work to get ready for her. He's painted more than I think he'll ever want to paint again. :) But i'm so excited that she gets such a beautiful room to spend her first years in. :)

it's almost the end of week 36 and she's still bubbling around inside me. Everyone asks if I'm ready to evict her yet but I'm still having fun playing up the pregnancy card. :)
My back is a little bit sorer than it's been this whole pregnancy but I can't get John to rub it. :( I rub his back all the time but when I need it what do I get? Noth...Crap, I'll stop complaining- he's been wonderful about every other thing throughout this pregnancy. He gets really sad the few times that I have lost my temper so i try really hard to control all those 'pregnant lady' urges.
John and I spent our last 'child-less' anniversary together on thursday. He took me out to the Texas Road House and we had a really great dinner.
Ah! my computer battery is dying so I gotta go before i lose all this! Adios!

WOW! 7 weeks to go! John and I need to seriously think about getting baby furniture in our little one's room! We have a bassinet that Corrie let us borrow, but she's going to get too big for that very fast.
The professionals say that during this week the baby is about 4 pounds and will gain about a pound every week (although I don't think that I'm going to be giving birth to a 11 pound baby- If I do..."Hello C-SECTION!") Our little one has fingernails, toenails and hair on her little head. Which reminds me; I gotta get that baby hygiene kit with the little fingernail clippers I registered for. (Hint, hint) :)
Some of my family from CA are here to see my big tummy this week because my LITTLE BROTHERS GETTING MARRIED SATURDAY!
When I get a chance I'll nag John about taking another picture of me this week- we've been really bad about keeping track of that.
But to keep you company until then, here's a cute baby orangutan to smile about.

Little Izzy is now around 3 pounds and I'm definitely seeing her grow in size! My belly is huge compared to last week and her little kicks are getting stronger. Sometimes she just tickles me around my ribs, but sometimes I jump because I'm so surprised at the strength of her little kicks!
She has a new little cousin that was born about 2 weeks ago! Jackiline Soledad Avila (sorry Cat If I misspelled that) Jackie looks so much like my little sister when she was a baby, although she IS on the heavier side than my little sis was when she was born.
So! Welcome to the world little Jackie! Can't wait for you to meet your cousin Izzy!
P.S. Do you people realize that Izzy is coming in less than 8 weeks? ummm...I'm freaking a bit here, but in a good way.

At last the great paint off is complete for another day.
The baby room is pretty as a picture finished off with sunshine yellow and light
melon green strips on three walls and 1 light melon accent wall. Let me tell you
this was quite a feet of will power to complete this room. Many a time that I
wanted to run screaming from the room, when I closed my eyes I saw nothing but
strips, thousands of strips etched into the back of my eyes.
After the first four hours of taping, with the help of my
wonderful brother, we had only completed half the room. A large chunk which included a
closet and a window. At that point we had had enough, and we had fled from the
house to catch “Fantastic 4” at the movies. Upon returning to the house, I went
back to work for another hour before I was exhausted.
Sunday morning came way too early. The wonderful dogs
woke me up at an amazing late 6:15 am. A whole 15 minutes after the puppy
alarm clock normally goes off. So I got up, and went back to work. After
another grueling 5 hours of taping I had completed taping the baby room, but not
before I ran out of 3 inch tape. So I had to complete 8 three inch strips with
three quarter inch masking tape (that is 16 individual strips).
It is simply amazing that 10 hours of work allows for a
pathetic 3 hours of painting including 2 coats on each strip, the accent wall
and all the trim work.
Then came the sad point of the whole process; the final 2
hours of work to remove all 62 strips from the wall that took so long to put
up. The 62 strips were made up of 233 individual pieces of tape, yes I counted
each piece.
So at the end of the process what did I end up with? A room
with 124 strips on 3 walls, a mountain of tape, and 4 holes in the drywall where
the tape removed everything past the primer, a lifetime of memories and one
very happy wife. So was it worth all the hard work? Yes. Will I do it again?
Not a chance.
4 walls (3 walls with strips, 1 accent wall)
2 gallons of paint
2 colors (light melon green, and sunshine yellow)
2 rolls of 3” masking tape
1 roll of ¾” masking tape
3 hours of painting
10 hours of taping
124 individual painted strips
62 tape strips (53 ½ with three inch tape, 8 ½ three
quarter inch stripes)
233 Individual pieces of tape
4 holes in the wall where the tape removed sections of the
drywall
2 gallons of water to fight off dehydration
A finished room…. Price…….$84
Nothing priceless about it…

June 18th- I'm in the 29th week, yea for the third trimester!
Isabella has been kicking around so much! She moves around my tummy and you can actually see my tummy move from side to side. I can feel her roll around and kick and hiccup so much!
I feel bad for John though- I'll be sitting there laughing and watching my tummy because I KNOW that she's the one moving it. but when he goes to feel my tummy she either stops or he just thinks that I have really bad gas bubbles moving around. He's not able to feel how cool it is to have her roll around and grow- he just thinks I'm getting fatter and have a big problem with gas.

AH! 3 weeks without the internet has been a killer on our baby site! Well...without further a due- here's some updates!
first- John and I moved into our first house! It's a cute house with a big back yard, perfect for baby to play in. The house is a bit dated into the 60's- but that's a small problem that can be overcome. :)
second- John couldn't wait for Baby Rosenbaum to arrive so he went out and got a new addition to the family ahead of time. We are now the proud parents of two dogs; my wonderful little pug, Chubbs, and our new addition, Jack. Jack is a beautiful little golden retriever who's already doubled in size since we got him. (no kidding- 3 weeks ago he was 8 pounds, this week he's 16)
third- My first year of teaching has successfully ended with a bang! It was a bitter sweet day to see my kiddos leave to go be third graders, but I feel like I did a great job as a teacher. I know that when I go back I'll do even better with mommy hood under my belt a little (it's all a learning process) and one year of teaching under it too.
With all the changes, John and I have been very happy. I'm taking care of the house right now and John's working his rear end off at work.
that's the end of this blog, the rest I post today will be about the baby.
We love all the

June 5- I hit 28 weeks. The doctors are very happy with my progress, they say my tummy is growing perfectly, I'm gaining a perfect amount of weight and any symptoms I complain about are perfectly 'normal.'
Funny moment from this week- one of my friends announced her engagement and asked me to be a bridesmaid in October. Since the baby's coming in August I said, "otay." We go to try on bridesmaids dresses and i was under the impression that I would mostly be just watching the other girls try on their dresses. I was wrong and the sales lady said, "no, all we have to do is give you a bigger size and you'll be set." some of the dresses looked great, others...well...you just can't get the proper idea of what some dresses, that are supposed to be worn by a non pregnant person, should look when a pregnant lady has one on. Needless to say, we found a beautiful dress that i imagine will look beautiful on in a few months.
Exciting baby development- Isabella's eye development is amazing right now. Her little eyes are starting to react to light (I guess some light filters through to the womb, who knew) and she has a full set of little eyelashes.
She weighs about 2 pounds right now. John compares her to a jar of Wal-mart salsa.

so people started asking the weird question, "has your belly button started to grow the other way?" Huh? what's that mean? Well, I found out what that question means in the last few weeks. My belly button has slowly left it's normal, wrinkly little dark cavern that everyone normally has to a smooth, popping out slowly, light pink little thing that is looking less and less like a belly button and more like just another part of my ever growing tummy.
It's so weird to think that I am going to be living for a few more months without a normal belly button. Strange the things you don't notice 'till there gone.

okay; I know that I should have posted this a long time ago (like a week) but I've been kind of busy. This is the story of how John felt the first kick. eh-hem! So the first night of week 21 (5 months) John and I were cuddling in bed. John was trying to feel the baby move because I had been talking about it for about two weeks. He had his hand on my tummy for about three minutes then he just gave up and said, "my hands tired, I'm going to sleep." About a minute later I felt the baby kicking harder so I grabbed his hand and placed it over the hardest kicking point saying, "okay, see if you can feel it now. It's a lot stronger now." John put his hand on my tummy incredulously. I could tell it was just to appease me for a little bit, but then he felt the baby kick! All John could say was, "that's cool," and had a big goofy grin on his face. He kept his hand there for a little longer until the kicking stopped and then cuddled closer to me and fell asleep.

Well week 22 has been very momentous for the parents to be. Our baby has grown to be about 10.9 inches and weighs almost a pound! John has felt the baby kicking plenty of times. I usually feel the baby kick when I'm relaxing on the couch or getting ready to fall asleep in bed. The kicks make me giggle in the middle of dead silence- I must look like a psycho. The coolest of all is that John and I were to see our baby's first picture! We found out that our little kicker is a girl and developing perfectly. All the measurements came back exactly as they should have and her heart beat is so beautiful! I can't wait to look into her eyes.
If you look at the profile shot of the ultrasound picture you can see her cute little chubby belly and perfect little arms and legs. My favorite picture (which John will post soon) is the one where she has her legs out in a 'lounging' position like she's just hanging out and enjoying her space while it lasts.
So for everyone who voted for a girl; you were absolutely right! Stay tuned for more news!

The house hunt is going along well I guess. We will be looking at a house tomorrow that looks like it is stuck in the Way-Back machine. ("but promising" chimed in Jay). I will post some pictures soon if we decide to move forward with the house. Jay is already planning a nice big (deck/porch) so i can cook and slave over the bar-b-que every night. Also I was informed that when we get a house we will be having a house warming bar-b-que, and you are all invited. (Make sure you pay at the door).

Well on tuesday (4/24) we will be seeing the first picture of the baby. Yes only one BABY, to all those who have been wishing twins on us. The last two weeks we have seen that baby has gone from a fruit to a nut case. eurhh....um... I mean to a baby that is 10inches long. According to the experts. I felt the baby kick, push and head butt mom's belly. Which causes jay to giggle sitting on the couch.

Ok this whole pregnancy thing is funny. One moment she will be happy and the next sad. It’s like emotion overload. Silly things that she was fine with the day before will make her tear up and then the next day she will be fine again. Its all good though, there are worse emotions that could be coming out.
Also she has started to inform me of every time the baby kicks, pokes, wiggles, or farts. Most if not all of these movements I still cannot feel but it is awesome that she can feel something. It is like reassurance that the baby is in there and developing. We will be getting our first pictures of the baby in the next couple of weeks, which we will post. For all those who want to know Boy or Girl, all I have to say to you is TOUGH. We are not telling. HEHEHE.
I cannot wait until the baby is born. I really want to be a dad but I am scared. I don’t know how to change a diaper, don’t know how I will fair as a Dad, will I be a good or bad dad. I guess I will find out in 20 years when our baby gets married and we can see the type of spouse that they choose. So much for instant gratification.
